HCAM Site Recognizes Heroes of Healthcare
In the growing, fast-paced world of health care, web sites have become an integral source for information and services. The Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) is capitalizing on that trend with a new web site www.hcam.org.
Lansing web developer i2Integration created an entirely new look and feel to the web site, incorporating the theme, "Heroes of Healthcare," including photos of member employees who were nominated by their facility. Besides being attractive and celebrating the accomplishments of its members, i2Integration made changes that make the web site more user-friendly and relevant. When the new site was unveiled at the HCAM annual convention, attendees applauded.
“Our web site is one of the primary tools we use to educate our members and highlight the activities our staff is engaged in on their behalf,” said HCAM President and CEO Dan Gustafson. “This is a great looking web site that people can go back to on a regular basis for news and information.”
In addition to its new look, i2Integration updated the DotNetNuke content management system on HCAM’s web site, which allows for enhanced text and image editing. And soon online event registration and an online dues payment feature will be available.
Started in 1994 as a division of Forsberg Group, Inc., i2Integration is a premier provider of web and IT solutions. Services include custom web development, IT support and multimedia production for clients in the healthcare, non-profit, government and business-to-business sectors.
John Forsberg, i2Integration CEO, said his company’s 13 years of experience developing web sites and custom systems for the health care industry makes them uniquely qualified. The specialized needs of health care organizations demand web development that is not only technologically savvy, but that speaks the industry’s language.
“With our background, we were able to hit the ground running on this project – and that was needed as the site had to go live for the upcoming conference so there was little room for error. My only regret is that we didn’t have a videotape of the conference when HCAM’s members actually applauded. I’ve received a lot of great client responses over the years, but a roomful of applause? That’s a whole new level of great.”
The Health Care Association of Michigan is dedicated to Promoting Excellence in Senior Care. HCAM is the major trade association representing Michigan’s long-term health care providers, with a membership of more than 250 facilities serving nearly 25,000 residents and employing an equal number of people.
