PayPal IPN Support
- Event Reg 4.5 now supports PayPal payments!
- In addition to supporting PayPal's PayFlow system, Event Reg now supports using a standard PayPal account to accept payments.
Event Categories
- The EventReg module now allows for the categorization of events.
- Administrators have the ability to define a set of categories that events can be assigned to. The main event list will display all events grouped by category upon first entering the module. Users can then filter the event list to show only events that belong to a certain category, which makes finding events relevant to the user much easier.
Customizable Field Display
- The fields available in the main event list can now be shown/hidden by the administrator so that only the fields you want are shown.
Registered Users Only
- Events now have the option of specifying whether they only allow registration by users that have registered within the DNN portal. This allows chosen events to be available to "members only".
Donations
- Event administrators can now specify whether the event allows donations in addition to the defined registration cost. This can be very useful when hosting free events.
Payment Methods per Event
- In previous versions of the module, the accepted payment types were defined in the module settings, and those setting were applied to all events within the module. This created some issues where you could not easily have both a free event, and an event that accepted Visa and Mastercard only.
- This has been remedied by having events specify which type of payment they accept. Options include Instant (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal [when using the PayPal gateway]), Delayed (Check, P.O.), and Free
- The payment options available to the registering user are then determined based on the type of payment methods accepted by the event, and the overall options that have been defined in the module settings.
Maximum Attendance
- Administrators now have the ability to set a maximum number of attendees for any event. When an event has a maximum attendance specified, the number of seats left are displayed to the user both in the main event list, as well as while they are in the process of registering.
- When an event has reached its maximum attendance, no additional attendees or new registrations are allowed. A message is displayed to the user letting them know that there are no further seats available.
- Administrators can edit the event and increase or decrease the number of maximum seats available at any time.
EventReg has been used by a number of organizations since 2005 and is a quick and cost-effective way to add registration functionality to your DNN web site.
